The terms that apply when you use this website or hand over any item to Aspen Cleaners for care. Please read them before booking.
About these terms
These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to everyone who visits this website or uses any service of Aspen Cleaners ("we", "us", "our"), GF, Unit No. 001, Navratna Business Park, Block C, behind White Crow, Sindhubhavan Road, Ahmedabad, Gujarat 380054, India. Our services include laundry (wash and fold), dry cleaning, steam ironing, curtain cleaning, leather cleaning and shoe cleaning, with pickup and delivery in Ahmedabad and drop-off at our shop.
By browsing the website, booking a pickup, handing over any item, or accepting items back from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.
About the content of this website. Every piece of content shown on this website, including its text, photographs, illustrations, the story of Sakshi, care advice, service descriptions and answers to questions, is published by Aspen Cleaners or with the approval of Aspen Cleaners. Aspen Cleaners is solely responsible for that content. The website was built for Aspen Cleaners, and nothing on it is published without the company's approval.
Content on this website
All content on this website is published by Aspen Cleaners or with its approval, and Aspen Cleaners is responsible for it. That includes:
- Pictures. Photographs and illustrations on the website are for illustration. They show the kind of care we offer and may not show our actual premises, staff, vehicles, packaging or a specific customer's garment.
- Stories and examples. "Sakshi's evening" and the care stories are illustrative examples. Characters and situations are fictional unless stated otherwise.
- Care advice. The tips in "Care at home" and the answers on this website are general guidance. Fabrics, dyes and finishes differ, so always check the care label and test on a hidden area first. You follow home-care advice at your own risk, and we are not responsible for damage caused by home treatment.
- Service details. Services, timings and descriptions may change. What we confirm to you for a specific order, in writing on WhatsApp or on your receipt, takes priority over general information on the website.
The website's design, text, images, logo and the name Aspen Cleaners belong to Aspen Cleaners or are used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, republish or use them commercially without our written consent.
Booking, pickup and delivery
- You can book by WhatsApp, phone or at the shop. A booking is confirmed only when we confirm the pickup slot to you.
- Pickup and delivery slots depend on availability, traffic and weather, and times given are estimates.
- Please make sure someone is available at the address, or tell us in advance who will hand over or receive the items. Handing items to, or receiving them from, a family member, domestic help, building security, reception or anyone else at the address you gave counts as handing them to or receiving them from you.
- You are responsible for giving us a correct and complete address and phone number. If a pickup or delivery fails because no one is available, the address is wrong or we cannot get access, we may reschedule it, and repeated failed visits may be charged.
- Free pickup and delivery applies within the areas of Ahmedabad that we serve. We will tell you if an address is outside them.
Handing over your items
- Empty every pocket. We are not responsible for money, jewellery, watches, cards, documents, keys, phones, earphones, pens, lipsticks or any other item left in pockets, bags or garments, nor for damage to your garments or other customers' garments caused by such items (for example ink from a pen or colour from a lipstick).
- Point out what matters. Tell us about stains (and what caused them), existing damage, repairs, loose buttons, weak areas, and anything delicate, valuable, antique or of sentimental value. Items of unusually high value must be declared at handover.
- Count and record. Items are counted and recorded at pickup or at the shop. If a count is done later at the shop, we will share it with you; please report any difference within 24 hours. We are not responsible for items that were not handed over or not recorded.
- Your own items only. By handing over items, you confirm that you own them or are authorised by the owner to have them cleaned.
- We may refuse any item that we believe cannot be cleaned safely, and we may return an item uncleaned if we discover a risk after inspection.
How we decide on care
We decide on the cleaning method after inspecting each item, its fibre, construction, dye, trims and care label. Where an item needs special treatment, a higher charge, or carries a known risk, we will try to tell you before we start. If you ask us to go ahead against our advice, or to use a method other than the one we recommend, you accept the risk of that choice.
Following a care label does not guarantee a perfect result. Labels can be wrong or missing, and we are not responsible for problems that come from a garment's labelling or manufacture.
Risks we are not responsible for
Cleaning can reveal or worsen weaknesses that already exist in a garment. Even with careful work, some results are outside our control. Unless the damage is caused by our proven negligence, we are not responsible for:
Colour and dyes
- colour bleeding, running, fading, patchiness or colour transfer from dyes that are not colourfast, including on hand-dyed, block-printed, bandhani, ikat, kalamkari and similar fabrics;
- change in colour or sheen from earlier exposure to sun, perfume, deodorant, sweat, chemicals or household bleach that only shows after cleaning.
Shrinkage, shape and texture
- shrinkage, stretching or change in shape caused by the fabric's construction, weave, blend, or incorrect or missing care labels;
- puckering of seams, bubbling or separation of bonded or fused layers, interlinings, shoulder pads or linings;
- pilling, fuzzing, thinning or loss of texture or finish (such as crispness, glaze or water resistance) that comes from normal wear or manufacture.
Weak, old or damaged fabric
- tears, holes, splits or fraying in fabric that is old, worn, sun-damaged, moth- or insect-damaged, or weakened by perspiration, chemicals or earlier cleaning;
- hidden damage, earlier repairs or alterations, and damage that was present but not noticed at handover;
- items that are very old, antique, inherited or of sentimental value, which are cleaned entirely at the owner's risk.
Embellishments, trims and fittings
- loss, loosening, discolouration or damage of sequins, beads, stones, mirror work, embroidery, lace, glued trims, prints, foil, paint, glitter and plastic or imitation pearls and buttons;
- tarnishing, darkening or loss of shine of zari and metallic threads, including real silver or gold zari, which oxidises naturally over time;
- damage to or loss of buttons, zips, hooks, buckles, belts, studs, detachable collars, linings and other fittings, and damage caused by fittings that are not designed to withstand cleaning.
Stains and odours
- stains that cannot be removed completely, especially old, set or heat-treated stains and stains from turmeric, ink, oil, rust, henna, wine, paint, glue or blood;
- stains that only appear after cleaning, such as invisible marks from sugary drinks, perfume or body oils that oxidise over time;
- stains or damage caused by home treatment, ironing or washing before the item reached us;
- smells (such as smoke, damp, mildew or perfume) that cannot be fully removed.
Leather, suede and fur
- changes in colour, shade, texture, softness or size, and differences in shade between parts of a set cleaned together;
- natural marks, scars, veins or earlier repairs that become more visible after cleaning;
- cracking or stiffening of dried-out, aged or poorly tanned leather and peeling of coated or bonded leather (PU, faux leather).
Shoes
- separation of soles or parts held by glue, yellowing of soles, cracking of aged material, and changes in colour or texture;
- damage to shoe trims, prints, glued logos and decorations, and stains or odours that cannot be fully removed.
Curtains, upholstery and household items
- shrinkage within normal limits for the fabric, and fabric weakened by sunlight that tears or falls apart during cleaning;
- degradation of linings, blackout coatings, backings, tapes, hooks, rings and weights;
- any measurement or refitting work; we are not responsible for curtains that no longer fit after cleaning because of the fabric's natural behaviour.
Other
- wrinkles or creasing that return in transit, in storage or after you receive the items;
- any harm to items after delivery, including storage, humidity, mildew, pests or handling at your home;
- items left at a location you chose for contactless pickup or delivery, after they have been collected or dropped off as agreed;
- loss or damage caused by events beyond our control (see below).
Delays and events beyond our control
Return dates are estimates. We are not responsible for delays, or for loss or damage, caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including floods, heavy rain and waterlogging, fire, earthquakes, storms, power cuts, water shortages, strikes, bandhs, curfews, riots, epidemics, government orders, traffic restrictions, road closures, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, supplier failures and illness. We will tell you as soon as we reasonably can, and complete the work when it becomes possible.
We are not responsible for any loss that results from a delay, such as a missed function, event, flight or meeting. If you need an item by a fixed date, tell us at handover, and we will tell you whether we can commit to it.
When you receive your items
- Please check your items, the count and their condition when you receive them, or within 24 hours at the latest.
- Any claim about a missing item, visible damage or an unsatisfactory result must be reported to us within 48 hours of delivery, with photographs, and the item must be returned to us in the same condition, unworn and unwashed, so we can inspect it. Claims reported after that, or about items that have been worn, washed or altered since delivery, may not be accepted.
- Where possible, we will first offer to re-clean, re-press or repair the item at no charge.
Our liability and compensation
If an item is lost or damaged while in our care because of our proven negligence, our total liability for that item is limited to ten (10) times the service charge for that item, or the depreciated value of the item, whichever is lower. The depreciated value takes into account the item's age, condition and normal wear, and you may be asked for proof of purchase or value.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses of any kind, including loss of use, loss of income, missed events, travel costs, or emotional or sentimental value. Where we pay compensation for a lost item and it is later found, it belongs to us unless you return the compensation.
Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have, or any liability we have, that cannot be limited or excluded under Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Prices and payment
- Prices depend on the item, fabric and care needed. We confirm the price for your order at pickup, at the shop or on WhatsApp, and prices may change from time to time.
- If an item needs extra care that costs more, such as heavy embroidery, special stain treatment or repairs, we will ask before doing it.
- Payment is due on delivery or collection unless we agree otherwise. We may hold items until outstanding amounts are paid.
Items not collected
If we cannot deliver your items because we cannot reach you, or items left for collection at the shop are not collected, we will try to contact you by WhatsApp and phone. Items not collected within 60 days of being ready may attract a reasonable storage charge. If they remain uncollected after 90 days and a final notice, we may donate or dispose of them to recover our costs, and we will have no further responsibility for them.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information about yourself, your address and your items.
- Provide safe access for our staff, and treat them with courtesy. We may refuse service where staff are treated abusively or put at risk.
- Do not send items that are contaminated with hazardous substances, bodily fluids, pests or mould without telling us first; we may refuse them or return them uncleaned.
- Do not use the website or our WhatsApp line for anything unlawful, abusive, misleading or harmful, or try to interfere with the website's operation.
Using the website
- We try to keep the website accurate, available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, and we may change or remove any part of it at any time.
- Links to other services, such as WhatsApp and Google Maps, are provided for convenience. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.
- The WhatsApp message helper only prepares a message in your browser. A booking is not made until you send the message and we confirm it.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the website.
Privacy
How we handle your personal data is explained in our privacy policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version on this page, with its "last updated" date, applies to every order handed over after that date. The Terms in force when you handed over an item apply to that item.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. We will always try to settle any concern with you directly first. Subject to your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms will continue to apply.
